Gas Market Company (GMC) is the operator of the NSW & ACT Gas Retail Market. The Market allows over 1,000,000 gas consumers in NSW and the ACT to choose their gas supplier.

GMC is owned by members of the gas industry in NSW and the ACT.

The primary aim of GMC is to develop and operate cost efficient and effective retail market arrangements, which are fair and equitable, to facilitate competition in the gas retail market. Its vision is to serve the interests of energy industry participants, energy consumers, government, and other stakeholders by enabling a competitive market in a fair and cost effective manner.

The NSW & ACT Gas Retail Market is constantly evolving to meet the needs of energy industry participants, energy consumers, government, and other stakeholders. This website seeks to inform on GMC’s operations and provide regular updates on developments in the Market.
